Court filing and document retrieval in Windsor
Skip the courthouse line. We file documents you have already prepared and signed, and retrieve court files and documents, at the Windsor courthouse, so you can stay at your desk.
Court filing and document retrieval are provided on your specific instructions; we do not draft documents, complete forms on your behalf, or provide legal advice. For that, consult a lawyer or licensed paralegal.
Court filing at the Windsor courthouse
You prepare and sign the documents. We take them to the Windsor courthouse and file them as you instruct. This suits law firms and paralegals with a deadline and a full day, and individuals who cannot get downtown during working hours. Court filing is $79 for one filing on one trip. Each additional document on the same trip is $25, and same-day filing adds $45. Court fees are paid at cost, with a receipt and no markup.

When a counter visit still makes sense
Outside Toronto, Ontario now takes many filings online: Small Claims documents through Small Claims Court Submissions Online, civil claims through Civil Claims Online and Civil Submissions Online, and most family documents, including a divorce application, through Family Submissions Online. The portals are not for urgent hearing requests, or for a court date or deadline 3 business days away or less; for those, the province points you to filing in person or by email. Some documents also have to be sworn before a commissioner first. That is where we come in.
The Windsor courthouse at 245 Windsor Ave. offers counter service Monday to Friday, 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. The Leamington court office at 7 Clark St. W. has limited services and cannot take court fee payments. Phone numbers and what each building handles are in our Windsor courthouse guide.
Pairing it with service
Filing often goes hand in hand with serving. Our Windsor and Essex County flat rates include a sworn Affidavit of Service, which is ready to file once you have it. Property managers can also look at LTB notice packages.
